Remember that HyperLiquid whale that shorted the market and made $190m because of Trump tweets a few hours later? A polymarket account linked to it called "bigwinner01" placed bets that CZ would be pardoned. Looking like obvious insider knowledge. 👀

Ossoff: "The president apparently promised pardons for the entire WH staff, which I guess is the kind of thing you do when you run the WH like a casino. Now, maybe the West Wing is too busy placing Kashi and Polymarket bets on the war to care, but American are getting hurt ... in Donald Trump’s America, the rich get tax cuts, the well-connected get stock tips, and everybody else makes sacrifices."

We've been quiet recently because Mark Goodwin and I have been working to write the most comprehensive investigation into Polymarket's origins and ambitions to date. We found that Polymarket's "official" origin story, that Shayne Coplan founded the company alone in 2020 and then built "the company in his bathroom", is a lie. Polymarket really started years earlier as another company called TokenBnk that was deeply tied to Israeli interests, specifically a crypto company founded by Benjamin Netanyahu's niece and nephew. Coplan has actively tried to obfuscate this company from his story and it's not the only thing either. In Part 1 of this two-part series, we unravel the real history of Polymarket, directly connecting the company to Peter Thiel's efforts to resurrect controversial DARPA programs from its now defunct Information Awareness Office. Polymarket appears to have been chosen by Thiel and his associates to succeed in resurrecting DARPA's Policy Analysis Market where another Thiel-linked company, Augur, had previously failed. Stay tuned for Part 2, where we explore the current influence of prediction markets and Polymarket, including how an insidious effort to have prediction markets replace representative democracy as a governance model is already being slowly implemented by the White House. Whitney Webb just exposed that Polymarket is part of a secret deep state plan to build a digital control grid. “Polymarket and Palantir are partners.” “The goal is not just … mass surveillance.” “It’s predictive policing.” “This is the privatized panopticon.” This story is way darker than you think. The “official narrative” of Polymarket’s founding is this: Shayne Coplan created it during Covid, “in his bathroom,” because the “uncertainty” of the Covid era was the “best time for prediction markets.” Webb declared that story is “bunk.” “Even though he’s alone in his bathroom building this company … he somehow raises $4 million just three months after the company launches.” “We know that he had all these connections, particularly the people that sort of bridged the US-Israeli crypto tech scene.” “And the main people backing him are Coinbase’s earliest employees.” “Remember, Coinbase takes Augur and sunsets it.” “Augur was an attempt to resurrect PAM.” “What was PAM?” “PAM was the Policy Analysis Market that these guys have been trying to resurrect.” It was a DARPA project. “There’s an interview that he gave in 2020 where he said a lot of the passion for the creation of Polymarket … was DARPA’s [PAM].” “It was part of TIA.” “Total Information Awareness.” TIA was another DARPA project launched after 9/11. The goal was to build a federal mass surveillance apparatus. TIA was defunded by Congress after public backlash, but it never really went away. It was just privatized, and eventually became Palantir. The goal? “It was to predict.” “Pre-crime.” “So Polymarket … just like with PAM, the odds are there to help feed the pre-crime engine.” “And we know that Polymarket bets can be rigged.” “And that Polymarket itself puts out misinformation sometimes to make trades swing one way or the other.” “And that insider trading is a huge problem.” “The context of that, and as it’s meant to interface with what is now Palantir, is really unsettling.” @_whitneywebb @markgoodw_in

Made $1.3m and walked away. Trader Yamal19 made $1.3m and left Polymarket forever (only $2,000 left on his account). He created his Polymarket account on World Cup day ~19th July and placed $1.9m on Spain at 0.59c. Acquired 3.3M shares. After Spain won, he secured $3.3m total with a $1.3m profit, about 67% return in less than 2 hours. Who knows, maybe it was Lamine Yamal himself.
