Skild AI is now worth $14B!! - about 3 times the $4.5B valuation from the last funding round reported to have closed six months ago The company has just announced raising $1.4B in Series C funding at a $14B valuation led by SoftBank, with participation from NVIDIA, Macquarie Capital, and Jeff Bezos. Other notable investors include LG, Samsung, and Salesforce Ventures. In 2025, the company grew from zero to approximately $30M in revenue in just a few months. Skild is building an omni-bodied brain to control any robot for any task.

All the venture money in robotics is going to three verticals: 1/ The robot body (Figure, 1X) 2/ The robot brain (Physical Intelligence, Skild AI) 3/ The infrastructure around the brain, mainly data collection, simulation, pre-training stacks If you're now starting a company in any of these three, one of two things has to be true: > You have a PhD from a top-institution in robotics and did world-class research over the last ten years. > You have a sharper insight into what would work, and articulate it very clearly. If none of these are true, you are probably better off spending your time on deployment. Essentially, become the operator who knows what the robot has to do, in what order, against which constraints to earn its position within a vertical. If you can do that, I think there's two clear outcomes: 1/ You build the robot, because your customer insight is so specific that you can only build that robot. 2/ The frontier labs acquire you for the relationship. They have the model. They need the customer. You have built the customer relationship over the years.

Zebra Technologies brings one of the most battle-tested warehouse robotics platforms in the industry. Their Symmetry Fulfillment orchestration platform already coordinates tasks between robots and frontline workers using real-time data from Zebra wearable devices, proven in logistics environments where reliability is mandatory. The Skild Brain is an omni-bodied foundation model that generalizes across embodiments without retraining from zero. Quadrupeds, humanoids, tabletop arms, mobile manipulators—the same underlying model operates all of them. Adding the Skild Brain to Zebra's Symmetry platform means robots don't just follow instructions, actually they make informed decisions. Robotics is moving so fast. I expect deal value to 10x in the upcoming years. With private capital flowing into companies that can manufacture at scale + win paying customers. Some of the biggest deals so far this year include: -> Saronic (US) w/ $1.75B Series D in March for autonomous naval vessels. -> Skild AI (US) w/ $1.4B round for humanoid software. -> Apptronik (US) w/ $0.94B Series A for industrial humanoids. -> Mind Robotics spun out from $RIVN and raised $0.9B YTD. There'll be plenty of public investment opportunities though. Either by investing upstream in the suppliers that make up humanoid's BOM e.g. in actuators or perception systems. In a similar style to the AI supply chain, going upstream to find where the winners are. Or via pure-play robotics companies selling B2B and B2C once production ramp hits in a year or two.
