About Commonwealth Fusion Systems

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is an MIT spin-off commercializing tokamak fusion using high-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnets that dramatically shrink reactor size. It is building SPARC, a demonstration machine designed to achieve net fusion energy, and plans its first ARC power plant in Chesterfield County, Virginia. CFS has raised more capital than any other private fusion company, reportedly closing a roughly $3.85 billion round in May 2026 that pushed total funding to about $6.85 billion.
