It's funny how much this mirrors the disruption sequencing we are seeing in African fintech re: stablecoins.
There's clear alignment to upgrade card settlement now: lower USD prefund, 24/7 settlement, no threat to local currency, etc. Everyone's spinning up stablecoin cards as well.
But then the auth/clearing layer will come into contention in a region where cards are not entrenched and wallet-wallet options are exploding.
Yes, major barriers re: dollarization and big ticket local offramp, but feels like a wave of disruption pushing hard against a wall of regulatory reluctance that's gradually crumbling.
I don't think any of the current 'leaders' are safe.

just checked my @useTria account and im sitting at 13056 XP with a 4x multiplier
Season 1 is live and the mechanics actually make sense for once
heres how it works:
you earn XP from 4 things - card spend (main one), card booking, referrals, and basic onboarding stuff
but the multiplier is where it gets interesting...
everyone starts at 1x base. then:
-virtual card adds +1x
-plastic card adds +2x
-metal card adds +3x (what i got)
-every referral that completes KYC adds another +1x
so if you spend $100 with my 4x multiplier, thats 400 XP and someone with 10x from referrals? same $100 = 1,000 XP
the referral system is actually unlimited so you can stack multipliers forever
XP pushes you through levels 1-10 fast, then into prestige tiers: Jacks Circle → Queens Guard → Kings Court → Ace Society
your final tier when season ends (jan 2026) determines your reward share
basically: to climb faster you have to spend more, refer more and upgrade card
Season 1 already counting your activity from launch so if youve been using tria youre already in
from my side if youre already deep in tria, stack what you can
best of luck my frens
