Replit just launched Replit Design. Looks amazing! Designing is hard, and AI agents tend to generate mostly generic stuff. This will help tremendously. I like that Replit Design acts as a thoughtful design partner and suggests more personalized designs for your apps.

Probably simplest way to try models for non-devs is @replit now Super cool But fact that it’s very hard to figure out if any open weights model is actually >cheaper< or better for a workflow is telling They’ve tried with their “Effort” meter to simplify decisions but even that is challenging to grok It’s Complicated.

Creative and design is going to get very weird in the next 12-24 months Replit and Claude now have genuinely good tools and design, this means the moat around creating what has been seen generally as decent design has collapsed Humans will look for something different, something we dont currently admire, as the next great aesthetic since LLMs are trained off of what we think is beautiful today Im excited to see what the future looks like, but candidly i dont have the ability to envision it

I published a font w a license that requires an upfront 100k donation to charity to use legally. Then I prompted Replit, Lovable, Figma, Gemini, etc to make a site using the font. All of them downloaded the font and published the site without considering the license at all. https://t.co/f9FHTZ8ooD
